Motion Control Dance mission is to enrich lives through the art of movement. Through our mission we aim to 'advance the education of people all ages, living in the Vale of Glamorgan and the surrounding areas, in the performing arts, particularly the art of dance, for the benefit of the public'.
Through provision of weekly classes, workshops, training and performance opportunities, we have created many memorable experiences for over a decade. Our services helps individuals express and appreciate themselves through creative dance sessions that can help broaden horizons and develop new skills.
Our Award Winning projects focus upon children, young people and adults with disabilities, as well as socially deprived members of the community, with the aim to increase general health and well-being and tackle social exclusion, through the medium of dance.
We work with schools and local organisations, delivering dance projects to engage physical participation, increase confidence and self- esteem, develop social skills and create new friendship groups, develop motor skills and increase physical fitness along with physical literacy and numeracy.
Our projects are delivered throughout the community with the opportunities to showcase their dance pieces at local community events and competitions. Based at the Barry YMCA, Motion Control Dance Studio has worked with over 1000 individuals on various movement projects since being registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in May 2015, although we have worked in the community since Motion Control Dance was formed in 2001. We pride ourselves as being unique, making a difference to lives as the only community dance provider in our region that specialise tackling social exclusion whilst increasing health and well being.
