Our mission is to advance education, personal and social development through the promotion of local play, recreational, leisure and social activities for children and young people with disabilities thus providing them with appropriate social opportunities essential for their personal development and improvement of the quality of life of the children, young people and their families.
PLUS aims to provide a ‘better quality of life’ for children and young people with disabilities and additional support needs, across the Forth Valley.
We do this through providing opportunities and support for children and young people to access social, community, leisure and recreational activities, of their choosing. This also gives parents and carers a vital break which increases both the capacity and resilience of families to continue in their caring role.
PLUS currently supports over 280 children and young people, aged 0 - 35 years old, through 14 projects. In 2016, PLUS organised and facilitated over 1,600 activities and events. We believe passionately that every child and young person has a right to play and have access to social and leisure opportunities and work relentlessly to overcome the barriers and obstacles that prevent children and young people with disabilities from having an ordinary life, similar to their non-disabled peers.
